I have not had this printer very long so I don’t yet know about costs of toner/drum kit. Had no problems installing to my desktop. My laptop (windows vista) was a struggle to install. microsoft.com & the brother.com websites found very helpful. Finally got connected (simple problem was my own wireless connection wasn’t connected) Great printer. Fast, Good Quality. Didnt need a router for this printer and you don’t need to use the cable for installing on to a laptop.
